Never use this Vanti as an emergency service, a medical monitoring service or a triage service. It is not monitored by a human, cannot alert emergency services, detects no emergency and may be unavailable.

Seek immediate medical attention for chest pain, persistent palpitations, fainting or loss of consciousness, repeated dizziness, confusion, sudden one-sided weakness, or unusual shortness of breath at rest.

1. What this Vanti is not

The Health Habits Coach Vanti is software that structures, records and summarizes a lifestyle-habits protocol that you have chosen. It is a personal organization and journaling tool.

It is not a health service. This Vanti:

  • is not a physician, nurse, dietitian, nutritionist, kinesiologist, physiotherapist, psychologist or health professional of any kind;
  • makes no diagnosis and assesses no disorder or condition;
  • prescribes nothing: no treatment, medication, supplement, dosage or therapeutic meal plan;
  • adjusts no medication and never recommends changing or stopping one;
  • interprets no laboratory, imaging or test result the way a clinician would;
  • medically validates no protocol, including the one it helps you follow.

The protocol remains yours. This Vanti helps you structure and follow what you decided, alone or with a professional. Tracking it does not mean it approves it, considers it safe for you, or has verified its merits.

2. Limits of this Vanti

This Vanti relies on language models. It may:

  • produce inaccurate, outdated or fabricated information, including about health, nutrition and exercise;
  • miscalculate a trend, an average or a progression;
  • fail to recognize a situation requiring an immediate stop or a consultation;
  • present a correlation observed in your data as if it carried a meaning it does not have.

Any general information it may mention about health, food, fasting or training is educational and general in nature. It does not account for your health status, history, medication or particularities, and does not constitute professional advice.

3. Device data: estimates, not clinical measurements

Smartwatch, activity-tracker and impedance-scale data are consumer-grade estimates. Their margin of error is real and sometimes significant.

  • Sleep stages, proprietary composite scores, heart-rate variability, body-fat percentage, hydration level and muscle mass are inferred by a model, not measured directly.
  • None of these values can support a health conclusion.
  • An abnormal value or an unexpected change must be brought to a health professional's attention, never interpreted here.

4. Fasting, dietary restriction and exercise — real risks

Fasting, caloric restriction and training carry real risks that vary from person to person: hypoglycemia, electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, fainting, falls, musculoskeletal injury, medication interaction, and worsening of an eating disorder.

Consult a health professional before starting or changing a fasting, dietary-restriction or exercise protocol, particularly in the following situations:

  • pregnancy, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding;
  • history, suspicion or sign of an eating disorder;
  • diabetes, insulin use, or oral hypoglycemic medication;
  • minors, or frail older adults;
  • known cardiac, renal, hepatic, endocrine or metabolic condition;
  • any medication, especially one whose schedule depends on meals;
  • history of bariatric surgery;
  • any active health condition or ongoing investigation.

This Vanti does not support fasts longer than 24 hours without explicit medical supervision, and will decline to do so regardless of insistence.

5. Not a monitoring service

This Vanti does not monitor you. It detects no deterioration in your condition, does not notice your absence, follows up with no one when you go silent, and alerts no relative, professional or emergency service.

Its silence never means that everything is fine.

6. When to consult a professional

Consult a qualified person — physician, nurse practitioner, dietitian-nutritionist, kinesiologist, psychologist as needed — whenever:

  • a symptom appears, persists or worsens;
  • you are considering a significant change to your diet, fasting or physical activity;
  • you take medication or have a health condition;
  • your relationship to food, weight or measurement becomes a source of distress, guilt or obsession;
  • you wonder whether what you are doing is safe for you.

Never delay seeking care because of what this Vanti said, and never stop an ongoing treatment without the advice of the person treating you.

7. Your information

Health information is among the most sensitive there is.

  • The Vanti asks for your explicit consent before retaining health data, and separate consent before importing device history.
  • You may correct or delete any note in the record, at any time, without having to justify yourself.
  • The record must contain no identifiers, no complete medical record, no raw laboratory results and no secrets.
  • This record is not a medical record and has no clinical value. It does not replace your file with a professional and is not transmitted to them.

Processing of your information is governed by the Privacy Policy.

8. Third-party information

Do not enter health information about another person — partner, child, parent — without their consent, and never more than strictly necessary. This Vanti reports nothing to any authority.

9. No guaranteed outcome

No outcome is guaranteed: no weight loss, no change in body composition, no improvement in any marker, and no health benefit. Results vary according to individual factors this Vanti does not know and cannot assess.

10. Your legal obligations

10.1 Do not perform a reserved activity

Certain health-related activities are reserved under Québec's Professional Code and professional statutes. Do not use this Vanti to make a diagnosis, assess a condition, develop a nutritional treatment plan, or advise others in a way that would require a licence to practise.

10.2 Personal use

This Vanti is intended for your own personal tracking. Do not use it to manage another person's health professionally or for compensation.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Recherche et développement laplanete disclaims all liability for, among other things:

  1. the health decisions you make following an exchange with this Vanti;
  2. inaccurate, fabricated or unsuitable content produced by the model;
  3. the failure to detect a contraindication, a concerning symptom, a risk, or a situation requiring consultation;
  4. any health consequence related to fasting, dietary restriction, exercise or a supplement;
  5. the inaccuracy of device data or of a trend calculation;
  6. the absence of monitoring, follow-up or alerting;
  7. an interruption of the Service or unavailability of the Vanti;
  8. the loss, corruption or disclosure of the tracking record.

The limitation of liability and the cap in section 13 of the Terms of Use apply.

Public-order limits — particularly important here. The foregoing disclaimers do not apply to bodily or moral injury, nor to injury caused by intentional or gross fault (art. 1474 of the Civil Code of Québec), nor to the extent prohibited by section 10 of the Consumer Protection Act. A clause purporting to exclude liability for bodily or moral injury would be without effect, and Recherche et développement laplanete does not seek to rely on one.

12. Acceptance

By using the Health Habits Coach Vanti, you acknowledge that it is a software tool, that it makes no diagnosis, prescribes nothing, monitors no one, medically validates no protocol, and replaces no qualified health professional.
